German Federal Government adopts Artificial Intelligence Strategy

Germany and Europe on the way to becoming a leading location for development and application of AI technologies

At yesterday’s meeting of the Digital Cabinet, the Federal Cabinet adopted the Federal Government’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy at the joint proposal of Federal Minister Peter Altmaier, Federal Minister Anja Karliczek and Federal Minister Hubertus Heil.

With this strategy, the Federal Government is pursuing three main goals:

  1. To make Germany and Europe a leading location for the development and application of AI technologies and to ensure Germany’s future competitiveness,
  2. to ensure the responsible development and use of AI for the common good; and
  3. Embedding AI in society ethically, legally, culturally and institutionally within the framework of a broad social dialogue and active political shaping
