Enterprise Modelling and Information Systems Architectures (EMISAJ) is a scholarly peer-reviewed open access journal with a unique focus on novel and innovative conceptual modeling research and its applications. We proudly announce that Prof. Dr. Peter Fettke is one of the editors for the special issue. It is titled „Blockchain Technologies in Enterprise Modeling and Enterprise Information Systems“. In this special issue, the editors are looking for high-quality articles that examine the use of block chains and the underlying technologies in enterprise modeling and enterprise information systems. More information about the journal itself can be found here and for more details about the special edition click here.
The 24th International Conference on Exploring Modeling Methods of Systems Analysis and Development (EMMSAD’2019) will be held on June 3-4, 2019 co-located with CAiSE 2019 in Rome, Italy.
EMMSAD aims to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners interested in modeling methods for Systems Analysis and Development to meet and exchange research ideas and results.
Best paper will be awarded; all candidates of best paper award will be invited to submit enhanced versions for consideration in a special issue of Software and System Modelling (SoSyM) Journal.
The Call For Papers can be downloaded here.
In his interview with Alexandra Buba of STB Web, Prof. Dr. Peter Fettke talks about „AI in tax consulting“. Artificial intelligence enters more and more areas of life and does not stop at tax consulting. Prof. Dr. Peter Fettke knows whether AI poses a threat to the consulting profession itself and explains how tax consultants can use it profitably and how it will change the entire industry.

Today, business processes are increasingly being handled digitally and with the support of IT systems. This enables the analysis of process instanciations and allows to identify violations of internal or external regulations (compliance rules). In this context, new methods and techniques are increasingly being researched in order to analyze the process data logged by IT systems and to use the findings for the benefit of the company. Against this background, participants of the MobIS Challenge will identify different possibilities and ways in which IT tools can be used for the analysis and improvement of process compliance.

During the lecture series on Monday, November 12, Prof. Dr. Peter Fettke will talk about „Current applications and challenges of Deep Learning in Business Informatics“. The lecture series is entitled Perspectives of Computer Science (2CP) and will take place in the winter semester 2018/2019 every Monday from 14:15 to 16:00 o’clock in HS 0.01, E 2 5 (lecture hall building mathematics). The event is addressed to beginners and all interested people.
More information about the program can be found here.
The European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) 2019 will be held Saturday, 8th June until Friday, 14th June 2019 in Stockholm and Uppsala, Sweden.
Digital enterprises today face numerous challenges, ranging from the level of strategic management to their business processes to the level of cyberphysical systems. The complexity and management tasks associated with aligning business, process and IT aspects must be adequately considered. This track asks for innovative contributions that focus on the aspects of modeling the digital enterprise and managing its business processes.
The deadline for paper submission is 27th November. More information can be found here.
Prof. Dr. Peter Fettke and Prof. Dr. Robert Risse, the Head of Finance Tax & Trade Group of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA and honorary professor at the University of Leipzig, have written an article entitled „Blockchain: Is a so-called „real time“ tax compliance possible?“ The article is published in the magazine „Der Betrieb“ (DB from 27.07.2018, issue 30, page 1748 – 1755, DB1272978).
The so-called blockchain technology is a new instrument in the field of the use of technologies in tax law. It not only supports work in the tax field in terms of securing and verifying tax issues, it can also offer and ensure new cooperative tax compliance. On the basis of the examples from the VAT area, the article clarifies what concrete implementation possibilities could look like.
More information about the content of the article and how you can buy it can be found here.
The EMISA Conference will take place from 15-17 May 2019 at the Evangelical Academy Tutzing, Germany.
For 40 years, the GI Special Interest Group on Design Methods for Information System (GI-SIG-EMISA) is a platform for experts from industry and academia to exchange and discuss the methodical aspects of planning, modeling, developing and running digital ecosystems.
Speeches of personalities, who have substantially contributed to the subjects and to the success of EMISA over the past 40 years, will complement the EMISA 2019 program. That is why we are particularly proud to announce that Prof. Dr. Peter Fettke will also be part of it.
More information on the event will be published on the website.
The 14th International Conference on Business Informatics will take place from 24.02. – 27.02.2019 in Siegen. Prof. Dr. Peter Fettke will be part of the 5th track entitled „Enterprise Modelling & Information Systems Design“.
It provides a forum for current research results on conceptual modeling, enterprise modeling and information system development. The track takes up current challenges in the relevant research fields, including in particular the use of conceptual models in the context of „innovative forms of organisation, new business models as well as forms of cooperation and interaction, which are extremely complex and place corresponding demands on the design of information systems.“
